The seminar is devoted to the consideration of various aspects of mathematical modeling of physical processes in the atmosphere, hydrosphere and active layer of land, associated with solving problems arising in the study of the problems of climate change and the natural environment.

LSM SPONSOR land heat and moisture exchange model: current state and prospects.

The report describes the SPONSOR land-surface model (Land-Surface model, LSM), its structure, basic principles of operation and parameterizations of physical processes. Special attention is paid to the description of processes related to the dynamics of seasonal snow cover. The main areas of application of the model and the prospects for its further development are considered.

 


 The seminar also will be held in the form of a webinar on the Zoom platform.
