The seminar was organized on the basis of the Scientific and Educational Center «Supercomputer Technologies». The reports cover all aspects of the use of supercomputers, parallel computing systems and distributed data processing methods for solving large computational problems. The seminar has a pronounced interdisciplinary nature, however, the various nuances of using supercomputer technologies are of interest to researchers from various fields.

The seminar is supported by the Moscow Center of Fundamental and Applied Mathematics.

IBM BOA - a tool to accelerate development using computer simulations

The usual brute-force approach to accelerate development and improve its quality is increasingly running into a variety of constraints (budget, power supply, software parallelization ability, increasing latency in large clusters, etc.). IBM has taken a Bayesian-based AI approach that builds and optimizes the model in real time to predict the most "promising" points, which are calculated with existing tools.

This allows, without changing the existing equipment and without making any modifications to the software used, to significantly speed up the obtaining of results. Reducing the requirements for the volume of invoice when using BOA, allows you to simultaneously "twist" hundreds of design variables, which potentially gives a new quality to the development.

Scope - almost all tasks that use non-sequential modeling. The report will give examples of the use of BOA on problems of the EDA (electronic component development), CFD (flow) and DD (drug development) classes, although the scope of BOA is immeasurably wider.
