MEMORIES ABOUT NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF STRATIFIED TURBULENCE OVER URBAN-TYPE SURFACES.
The results of LES calculations of steady-state neutral and stably stratified turbulent flows over urban-type surfaces are presented. Numerical experiments were carried out for various configurations of streamlined objects and for different static stability. A new algorithm for performing calculations with three-dimensional non-stationary models of stratified turbulence over surfaces of complex shape is proposed and tested, designed to obtain an equilibrium state with given values of the determining parameters. Peculiarities of thermal and dynamic interaction of turbulent flow over objects with the surface as a whole are revealed. A strong dependence of the thermal roughness parameter on stratification has been found. A physical mechanism is discussed that makes it possible to maintain turbulence over surfaces with large roughness elements with strong stability.
A new parametrization of the turbulent length scale for a multilayer RANS model of an urban environment is proposed, which does not contain the geometric parameters of streamlined objects. The parametrization is included in the local-one-dimensional model of the urban boundary layer and tested on the data of eddy-resolving modeling
The prospects for the development of the presented areas of research in the context of import substitution are briefly discussed.
The seminar will be held in the form of a webinar on the Zoom platform.
